The panels can be wired up to 72 volts nominal. The units intermittently seek the Maximum Power Point of the panel array, and take power at that voltage for the next period. They thus harvest, depending on the sun input, position and temperature, between 10% and 30% more power from the panels than a conventional system where the panel array voltage and the battery voltage are identical.
